In June 2015, Travis Passaro opened the doors to Radius Martial Arts Academy at 697 Post Road in Fairfield, Connecticut — not to build a business, but to build a training home. A place where martial arts would be taught the way it should be: with structure, patience, and respect for every person who walks through the door.

Travis brought more than technique. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by profession, he understood that every student learns differently. That principle became the foundation of how Radius operates — individualized attention, clear progression, and an environment where people are challenged without being intimidated.

In 2016, Radius became an official 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu school under Eddie Bravo — the only one in Connecticut. That same year, the academy formalized its affiliation with Kore Martial Arts under Master Luigi Mondelli. The result is a training program that draws from two of the most respected lineages in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, complemented by authentic Muay Thai and MMA instruction.

What started as a single room has grown into a full-service martial arts academy with seven active instructors, a dedicated kids program, competition training, and a community of over 155 five-star reviews. Students drive from Westport, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Trumbull, Easton, Stratford, and across Fairfield County to train here.

But the mission hasn't changed. Radius still operates on the same three values it was built on:
