The Art of Eight Limbs

Muay Thai is one of the most effective striking martial arts in the world, using punches, kicks, elbows, and knees to create a complete standing fighting system. At Radius, our Muay Thai program is led by Kru Tom Billinge — a coach with extensive international training experience, including time spent competing and training in Thailand.

Whether you're here for fitness, self-defense, or to step into the ring, our Muay Thai classes give you the tools to strike with confidence, move with purpose, and develop the kind of mental toughness that carries over into every part of your life.

Muay Thai FAQ

Do I need to be in shape to start Muay Thai?

No. You don't need to get in shape before you start — that's what training is for. Our instructors scale intensity to your fitness level, and you'll see rapid improvements in cardio, strength, and coordination within your first few weeks.

Will I get hit in class?

Partner drills involve controlled contact on pads and mitts. Live sparring is available for students who want it, but it's never required. Your comfort level is always respected.

What do I need to bring?

For your first class, just wear comfortable athletic clothing. We provide gloves and pads. As you continue, you'll want your own gloves, hand wraps, and shin guards.

Is Muay Thai good for self-defense?

Extremely. Muay Thai teaches you to strike effectively at multiple ranges — punching, kicking, kneeing, and elbowing — and gives you the tools to create distance, defend yourself, and de-escalate or end a confrontation.
